Role Description

Bicoastal Media operates radio stations in 12 distinct markets throughout Northern California, Oregon and Washington, owning 53 radio stations. Bicoastal Media’s overall radio footprint in the Northwestern part of the United States is not only massive from a geographical coverage standpoint, but our radio stations are the most listened to (and top billing radio stations) in all their respected markets with 5.6 million people within the range of our cumulative station signal coverage areas.

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, with dotted lines supporting the President and CFO, the Accounting Manager is responsible for the general accounting operations of the companies 53 radio stations. These operations include managing the revenue systems, financial reporting and analysis, financial statement preparation and consolidation, and general ledger activities. We are looking for a hands-on individual who can work cross functionally, has a desire to assist the Corporate Controller in overseeing and managing an accounting department, possesses an acute attention to detail, and can work under tight deadlines. As the company continues to grow, the Accounting Manager plays an important role in integrating the financial operations of acquisitions into the portfolio. As Accounting Manager of Bicoastal, you will be a key member of the management team and will be directly involved in any area within the Company that has an impact on the financial status of the firm. The successful candidate will be responsible for budget management, financial reporting and analysis, payroll, forecasting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and being responsible and coordinating all financial accounting functions. Job Requirements
Bachelor’s Degrees in Accounting
Minimum 5 years accounting experience in a management role; ten or more years preferred
General Ledger and Consolidations experience
Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks

Preferred Qualifications:
CPA
Public Accounting Experience
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Impeccable analytical and organizational skills
Self-motivated and self-directed
Ability to work closely with senior management team
Strong general ledger, GAAP, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and banking
knowledge
Radio Broadcasting accounting experience preferred
Extreme attention to detail, highly organized, adheres to deadlines and values follow through
Ability to juggle multiples tasks at once

Duties

  • All matters concerning financial reporting, including working closely with management in the preparation of the annual operating and capital budget;
  • Review and prepare account reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis and ensure accounting activities are well supported and documented and audit ready.
  • Maintain full ownership of the General Ledger to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
  • Perform accurate and timely monthly and annual financial closes
  • Preparation, review and distribution of all financial reporting packages
  • Handling of the annual year-end audit with the Company’s auditors;
  • Reviewing and recommending the establishment or improvements to the system of internal accounting controls, and strengthening any inherent weaknesses in the systems;
  • Assistance in the review and treatment of risk and credit management;
  • Prepare and file all required documents for income, property, sales and use, payroll, insurance, license and permits
  • Preparing cost and managerial accounting reports and analyses to assist the other members of the management team, and looking for opportunities to save costs and improve operating performance across all departments;
  • Working closely with top management in identifying and evaluating new business opportunities and growth initiatives.
